Saturday Style inspiration: Chloe Grace Moretz

I am totally LOVING this girls style. The fact that she has a recognisable style yet always seems to look fresh is so nice to see. Shes only 16, and doesn't dress beyond her years like many other young Hollywood actresses. For me though, the moment that really put her on the fashion map, was the Elle Style awards 2013. That Monochrome striped dress is now top of my wishlist, and I need to find out how to do my hair in a beehive like that!
I feel like our style is quite similar: Feminine and classic, but she's not afraid to wear the latest catwalk looks. She has definitely come a long way from her Kick-Ass days.

I'm Loving... Neon Flashes

One trend i've been noticing in a lot of street style photography lately is an increase of neon. I love the looks that can be created by just adding a one or two neon accents to an otherwise quite plain outfit  I don't know if I'm brave enough to try wearing a neon pink coat, but I might dip my toes into this trend using a belt and a few pieces of jewellery. This is the perfect way to feel a bit summery in the most terrible weather ever! I don't think it looks likely that we will be able to wear our spring/summer clothes any time soon, but nothing is stopping us wearing the appropriate spring/summer colour palette.

Saturday Style inspiration: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

Today's Style inspiration is a blast from my fashion past, as well as a brilliant two-for-one. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are responsible for getting most of my generation interested in fashion. When I was little I wanted to be an Olsen twin. I owned all the movies (On Video probably) and I distinctly remember taking a picture of Ashley into the hairdressers when I was 12 and asking for the same haircut. It looked amazing on her, but horrendous on me.

The twins successfully managed to make that difficult transition from child stars to fashionable adults, without going the same way as Lindsay Lohan on us. Now no longer film stars, they own the most amazing clothing range I've ever seen- Elizabeth and James. If you say you didn't want to be an Olsen when you were little, you're definitely lying!

In the press!

Its been an exciting week for me this week! First my quote was featured in Company's April issue, and then my ugly mug was in their Catwalk to Sidewalk feature in the street-style edit!

Quote, company magazine, placement

Its the first time I've been in a magazine and I'm a little bit too excited about it to be honest.

Tea dresses and leather

My first outfit post in what feels like forever! I have roped one of my flatmates into taking these for me, and I really have to invest in a tripod. This dress sums up my style in one item. I like dress, collars and pleats, so this has all three. I like the contrast between the leather and the girliness of the dress. It is a bit of a tight fit though, so I probably should have bought a size bigger. (Or maybe I should just not have eaten that entire bag of mini eggs yesterday?!)

Wearing this today was definitely a mistake, as it looked deceptively warm this morning, and I regretted not wearing a coat the moment I stepped outside. When will winter push off and leave us alone? I would quite like it to be summer already. I have a lot of cute summer clothes in my 'save for later' basket on Asos and I want to be able to buy them with a chance of wearing them.

So many shoes, So little funds...

Zara womens shoes, high heels, midi heels, flats.

I always would have said that I was totally in love with shoes. When I was little I remember having various tantrums in Clarks when my mum wouldn't let me have the pretty princess style shoes that I wanted and instead made me buy sensible black school shoes. Even before I had much of a fashion sense (Take that as living in Jeans and badly fitting t-shirts) I could get a bit too excited about a nice pair of shoes.

However, in the last year or so I found myself falling out of love with anything other than majorly beautiful and expensive designer heels. Before going to London on work placement I realised that the one key thing I needed to purchase was some decent black shoes, but a full day shopping and I came home empty-handed. This is largely due to the fact that the high street were creating some absolute shocking shoe designs. No, I don't want Glittery wedges thanks, and those wedge trainers? Don't get me started! I think its probably because I'm very girly in the way I dress. If something doesn't make me feel elegant, or like I could be the next Disney princess, then I don't want to part with my money for it.

However, one high street store has come to my rescue and reignited my love for footwear. Step up Zara and let me have everything currently in your shoe section! From the most beautiful, girly ballerina pumps, to elegant midi-heels, I need them all. Yes, NEED! Now just to wait for loan day, but drive myself crazy looking at my bookmarks everyday until then. I've picked out some of my total favourites below, but this was a very hard decision to make!

Saturday Style inspiration: Shay Mitchell

This weeks ultimate girl crush is Shay Mitchell. Stunningly beautiful,an amazing actress and even a fashion blogger. Is there anything this girl can't do? The 25 year old Canadian actress/Blogger gets her amazing looks from her half Filipino half Irish heritage, and the fact that she's 25 and could pull off looking 18, means most women will want to know what skincare shes using! I've been catching up on Pretty Little Liars this week and just googling how to get my hair as amazing as hers, it isn't fair that I can't have a hair stylist!

Mad For Monochrome

Mad for Monochrome
1//2//3//4//5

Monochrome is one of those terms you hear thrown about a lot in fashion, and every season, it seems to dominate the catwalks and the high street, but it never seems to get boring.

Brands seem to keep it fresh with fabulous styling and some interesting patterns and shapes, and this season is no different. The five pieces above are just some of the amazing things available on the high street at the moment. With everyone from Topshop to Kurt Geiger getting in on it, there's something monochrome out there for everyone.

It's amazing as a colour palette because it never dates, and it suits most ages and skintones. One of the favourite pieces in my wardrobe is my Zara monochrome blazer which I've blogged about before, and It will be coming out of my wardrobe again this summer.

The Jacket above is from Zara and another one I'm considering adding to my collection. As for the trousers, well, I'm totally in love with a good printed trouser, so for me these tick every box.
If you follow the blog on facebook, you'll have seen my post about these gorgeous shoes and how much I really really NEED them (Yes, Mr. Bank Manager, they are a necessity!) I think they are the perfect summer heel!

Which Monochrome pieces are you loving at the moment? Or do you totally hate the trend?

Saturday Style inspiration: Miranda Kerr

This weeks Style inspiration is my ultimate girl crush, Miranda Kerr. Maybe its because she's beautiful, maybe its because she's a Victorias Secret angel, or maybe (and most likely) its just because she married to Orlando Bloom. Whatever it is, Miranda is so stylish, whether she is just wearing Jeans and a t-shirt or rocking an amazing ballgown on the red carpet, she always looks stunning.
Jealous? Me? ALWAYS.
