Parisian Weekend

Hi all!

In april, I headed off to Paris for a weekend as a 21st birthday present, and it was amazing. I had never been to Paris before but I have always wanted to go, so my parents sent me on my way with a half empty suitcase and a purse full of euros.

I spent the weekend with my friend Mathew who is currently studying abroad in France, and we got drunk, went sightseeing, and, most importantly, went to Disneyland! I thought I would post some of my outfits, considering that all I'm wearing in real life at the moment is library-friendly comfortable clothing and its not very exciting.

On our first night we jumped on a metro and took the short trip to Bastille for a night out. (The name combined with some alcohol meant that I kept singing Bastille songs!)
I had been travelling since early that morning, and then we took the very long walk up to Sacre Couer, so I wanted to wear something which was nice, but comfortable. I love this skirt and couldn't believe when I saw it in Tesco for £20. Total Bargain!

The second day was spent sightseeing, walking around Paris, and of course, Shopping! I eventually got to experience Sephora, and the most amazing Zara I've ever been in before. It was extremely difficult to leave everything in there. (But spot the cheeky Zara bag in the pic above.... oops!)

Then came the best thing EVER- DISNEYLAND!! I was running around like a little child at christmas, and these Minnie Mouse ears definitely stayed on my head the whole time I was there. I even managed to pluck up the courage to go on a rollercoaster, which, if you know me, is a big deal because I am a massive Chicken!

I had such a fabulous time in Paris, and I cannot wait to go back!

Spring Daze

Yep, that's right, I'm still here! This blog still exists and I'm still running it. Just very badly.

I have been very busy with university and placements, so I've not really had very much time to blog, especially as I am working on my final project for uni.
As I mentioned before I am creating a fashion magazine called OUTFIT, and as part of this, I roped my friend Ash into doing a shoot for me, and I've decided to give you all a sneak peek!

As I am creating a May issue, I'm obviously using spring/summer looks, so I decided to do a shoot using jackets, as our weather is so unpredictable, so we should always invest in a good one.

I'm hoping to start using one day a week to write and schedule lots of posts so that it isn't so quiet and neglected on the blog.

Enjoy!

Side swept hair

One celebrity hair trend I've been loving recently is side swept hair. There's something about it that can instantly glam up an outfit, and I love how it can make mad curly hair look sleek and polished.

I've been wearing mine side swept recently, not just on nights out, but during the daytime as well. Some mornings my hair is a bit unmanageable, but a brush through and a few clips in the back and it looks like I've spent ages on it. Perfect for the mornings that I sleep in!

My favourite celeb rocking the style has been Taylor Swift (no surprises there!) She has worn it on the red carpet a couple of times and managed to make it look different every time. I'm definitely still fangirling over her big time, so I'm sure she could wear a Bin bag and  I'd try it out!

I definitely do love this new style though, and it makes a nice change from my standard style with minimal effort!

2014...Bring it on!

I hate the whole 'New Year, New Me' thing that goes around all of the social networks on New Years eve, and I'm not one for making resolutions, mainly because I always break them.

However, 2014 is the year I am going to get myself organised, in every sense.

  • I already am a big list maker, and I live by to-do lists, but this year I'm going to sort out how I keep them. at the moment I keep them all on scrap pieces of paper and on random notes on my phone, but I'm going to try and keep them all in one notebook, or on a to-do list app so I know exactly what I have to do and what I have completed. No more hunting for my lists!
  • I've also only recently learned how to make a calendar sync on my phone, laptop and tablet, so now I'll be able to have the same information on everything, and I won't have to keep checking my updates. Brilliant!
  • Last August I was in TK Maxx with mum, and I spotted something I have wanted for ages, well reduced. A beautiful Orange Filofax. As a self-confessed stationery addict, and someone who loves Colour, it was right up my street. Plus it will only aid my resolution to get organised.
  • I want to get myself into a good daily routine. With university timetables, and a Part-time job where I work random shifts, it can be easy to have lots of late nights and early mornings and not leave a lot of time to get stuff done outside of these hours. I also Procrastinate. A LOT. I want to set myself a waking up time so I will get up at the same time everyday, and try and make sure I get enough sleep!
  • My room is in severe need of sorting out. There is no system to where I store or keep things, so getting ready is often a massive stress! I like these clear makeup storage sets because they look good and sleek, while still serving their purpose. My interior design board on Pinterest is filling up nicely.
  • Currently still living between Ireland and Sunderland means I have lots of clothes I have abandoned and no longer wear, I'm going to have a wardrobe clear out and sell it all on ebay. This also means I'll have that extra bit of money to save.
  • Saving is something else I want to get serious about. I have bought one of those money tins which you can only open with a tin opener so I won't be able to dip in and out of my savings when I need something extra. If I can't justify it, I won't buy it!
  • My poor little blog has been abandoned with all the other commitments I have, so I want to spend my free days writing up several post and scheduling them, and I want to properly commit time to making this blog amazing. My first step has been looking at books on blogging to download to my kindle once my loan comes in, I'm looking forward to this step and I can't wait to make this work.

I am coming to the end of my university life, and I'm applying for jobs and trying to plan out what I'm going to do when I finish. I know that getting organised now is really going to help me in the long run when I am (Hopefully!) working.

What are your New Years Resolutions? Happy 2014 to all of you!

When Fashion Dreams Come True

Anyone that knows me well, knows that I am always lusting after designer clothes, but the main thing that has always been top of my wishlist, is a Pair of Red-soled beauties.

So imagine my happiness, when my sister, who will be winning all the sister of the year awards, tells me she has granted my fashion wishes and bought me a pair of Louboutins. I don't think she could be a better sister really!

I'm totally in love with them, even though I haven't physically seen them yet, as they're in London with my sister, but I cannot wait to get my hands on them and style them up! Expect a few cheeky outfit posts featuring them over the Christmas period.

Nowseen.com

Jewellery is one of my essential fashion buys. I think jewellery can make or break an outfit, and it means that an outfit you have worn before can sometimes look completely different, and I never go out on a night out without some jewellery on.
having said all this, I do have a few things I tend to stick to when buying jewellery, apart from the odd statement necklace, I tend to choose quite minimalist pieces, as plain and simple is definitely one of my main fashion rules.

My newest favourite jewellery brand is Nowseen.com as they have perfectly captured the sort of jewellery I love to spend my hard earned wages on, and with Christmas coming up, it is likely that I will be turning to them for some gift inspiration.

I have some jewellery which is totally reserved for 'Special Occasions' and then my everyday jewellery, but I'm always on the lookout for jewellery which can multitask and do two things at once. Keeping all that in mind, most of the jewellery on Nowseen has made it onto my ever growing wishlist. These Stacking rings are right at the top of that list!

Check out some of the other pieces available and a few of the campaign images.

As part of their launch they are also offering you the chance to win £200 worth of jewellery, just in time for christmas party season! just click here and go to their facebook page to find out how.

Summed up

Today I had uni all day and I pretty much feel like I live there at the moment. But in between lessons I was helping Melody film a video for Fashion North, the new website we're part of for uni, and so I took the opportunity to get Nancy to take a few cheeky pics as I hadn't done an outfit post in a really long time.

I slept in this morning and so very little thought was put into this outfit, other than, "is this clean? does this match? Good enough!" but I managed to get a few compliments on it so it seemed to work out okay. Most of this is super old and super cheap, (perfect for a uni budget really) The top is on its last legs at this point and that makes me really sad because it matches so many things so I need to replace it asap really.

I even included a shot of me laughing, because I always think I look like a moody cow on my outfit snaps! The rest of this week is going to be spent doing yet more uni work and partying on behalf of halloween, which will be a nice break from the books!
